About the project

Monte Carmelo Association (MCA) is a K-12 educational institute which has been serving children and youth in socially vulnerable situations for 30 years. They serve children and youth in situations of social vulnerability during after school hours. This service includes food, transportation, uniforms and tutoring. Arts and environment classes are also offered. Their projects are: School of Virtues and Youth of the Future.

Living virtues and human values are an integral part of our educational material. We value human and spiritual aspects. The pedagogical proposal includes the study, reflection and practice of human virtues and values related to the life and development of children and youth. On a daily basis, students participate in activities as an opportunity to experience the virtues so that they become upright, conscientious citizens, with a spirit of service, capable of fulfilling their purpose and mission of life with dignity. Growing capable of producing change in their community.


How we help

Brazil has been severely impacted by COVID19. MCA relied heaving on funding from the government which it has not been able to receive due to the economic impacts of the ongoing global health crisis. Mona is now supporting this school to enable the continuing education of its students.
