Mark Sisson

Professor of Film, Television & Media, Southwestern College, CA



Mark W. Sisson is a distinguished professor and lead faculty member in the Film, Television, and Media Arts program at Southwestern College in Chula Vista, California, with over 40 years of experience in film production, media education, and community development. He holds a B.A. in Radio and Television from San Francisco State University and an M.F.A. in Film from UCLA, and has produced and directed more than fifty award-winning documentaries and educational films. Mark has worked with major production companies such as KNBC, Tandem Embassy Productions, and Stephen J. Cannell Productions, as well as numerous independent studios. His lifelong commitment to education and social impact has led him to collaborate with global organizations including UNICEF, WHO, USAID, EDC, and JICA on initiatives in advocacy, curriculum development, and media for social change. Through his work, Mark continues to champion the transformative power of the arts in uplifting communities both locally and internationally.
