Invest in a world where everyone receives an education.
Mona Foundation's ultimate goal is to help reduce global poverty such that no child ever goes to bed hungry, or is uncared for, or is deprived of the gift of education for lack of resources. There are many ways that you can support us and be a part of the change you want to see. The activity or the donation amount does not matter. What matters is that you TAKE ACTION and become of part of the Mona family and change the world for better, one child at the time. Below are some options. Click on each option to learn more about how YOU can take action.
Host your own Mona event! Plan a bake sale, potluck, tea party, dinner or even a gala. We will help you to make your event a great success.
Learn and grow alongside others passionate about education, justice, giving and making our world a better place for all of our children.
Behind every school that we support there are wonderful people who do the everyday work of development, sometimes at great personal sacrifices, to ensure that children who lack resources get access to education. Their stories are inspiring, and what they do move our hearts and the reason why we do what we do at Mona Foundation. Holding an event for Mona will provide you and your friends an opportunity to hear these inspiring stories and be doubly inspired to become personally involved in this very exciting process of building a better and a more just world for all of our children.
The event can be as small as inviting a few friends to tea, or organizing a bake sale, or a garage sale. It can also be a breakfast meeting with your colleagues, a luncheon with your community, or even a large dinner. Several youth have held a car wash, or a service project to benefit one of Mona’s schools. Other youth have started a “Global Citizen” club in their high schools to focus on learning about Mona and about development, and encourage their friends to do service. We will help and provide everything you need to make your event and fundraiser a success. To get you ready, we have prepared a small guide that can help you with organizing an event, click on the link to get the Guide to Hosting an Event. But don’t hesitate, and just email us at firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 425.743.4550 and we will help you along every day of the week.Event Hosting Guide

Mona Global Citizen Clubs are formed to bring together youth who want to make an impact.
Mona Foundation Chapters are Mona's advocates and champion our goals in their local regions.
Mona Global Citizen Clubs allow youth to make a difference in the world through supporting education for children in need and through service to the community. The goals of each club are to raise the awareness of students about international development and global citizenship and how they may have an impact on the betterment of the world even while in school and beyond into their adult lives. See where we have Global Citizens Clubs, https://www.monafoundation.org/take_action/clubs.
Global Citizen Clubs in schools is the brainchild of Chloe Rastegar. She attended a Mona event where the founder and the principal of Badi School presented on their school in Panama. She was so inspired by their stories that she decided that she wanted to go and visit the school in Panama, and she did. When she returned, she decided that she really wanted to do something concrete with her friends so that they organize activities in support of the students in one of Mona's projects and also in service to their community. Activities? Krispy Kreme donut fundraiser, Carnival fundraisers selling frozen lemonade, Halloween face painting for Toberman Neighborhood Center, Valentine’s Day treats for local school, Diaper Drive for San Pedro Rainbow Shelter,, and most recently launching an online store to sell branded Mona clothings, "MonaInBloom."
Want to join? Email Chloe@monafoundation.org.
Every chapter represents Mona to organizations and businesses in their area, engages the youth in philanthropy at the local level, and helps build our leadership and financial resources by hosting events or other activities in Seattle, Portland, Los Angeles and San Diego. Activities of each chapter varies, but in general they have three primary focus areas:

Set up a special Memorial Fund to honor a loved one for their great work so that their legacy can live on forever.
Mona Foundation just celebrated its 18th year anniversary. We’ve accomplished a lot and want to do more.
Finding meaning in the loss of a loved one often feels impossible One way to cope with the loss of a loved one and to honor their life is to create a Memorial Fund in their honor. A Memorial Fund is a wonderful way to transmute your grief into something positive and at the same time keep your loved one's memory alive.
For some families, honoring a relative who has passed away by creating a Memorial Fund in their name helps to begin the process of coming to terms with a great loss. It keeps the memory of their loved alive while also improving the lives of others. It's a wonderful way to show your love for the one you have lost and to preserve their legacy.
A Memorial Fund can be designated for specific purposes, for example scholarships for deserving students in any of Mona's projects, or designated to education of women and girls; or building a school where it is needed. It is a great way of paying tribute to a life well-lived, and to ensure the continuation of their services even after they have passed on.
We share in your giref and happy to help in however way we can to establish a special Memorial Fund as you wish it. Contact us at 425.743.4550, or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our goal is to grow the number of projects, countries and children served in our next 15 years. Toward this end, we are launching a five million dollar Endowment Fund Campaign. This Fund will help us realize the full potential of our mission by achieving four goals:

Planned giving to Mona is a flexible and creative way to make a powerful difference in global education.
Many companies believe that their mission is more than their profit and want to give back.

They are called "planned gifts" because planning the timing of the gift and how it is given often results in benefits to the donor as well as to the recipients. Your gift to Mona Foundation may be designated to benefit a specific project or need. Or, you may choose to support our general, operations or endowment funds. Options to consider include:
Option 1: Current Outright Gifts
These gifts include stock, real estate, or other tangible property. Donors are entitled to a charitable tax deducation equal to the asset's fair market value.
Option 2: Promised Gifts
These gifts, are a promise to give in the future. Because of their revocable nature, some of these gifts are not eligible for a charitable tax deducation during the donor's lifetime. Examples include:
Option 3: Deferred Gifts
These gifts involve an irrevocable transfer of cash orassets. Because the gift is complete (that is, irrevocable), the donor is entitled to acurrent tax deduction.
