Kit Bigelow was director of external affairs for the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the U.S. for twenty-five years with overall responsibility for the Office of External Affairs and the Office of the U.S. Bahá’í Representative to the UN, among other duties. Her work focused on human rights issues, including protection of religious freedom and the rights of women. Her collaborations on these issues were at high levels of US government and concerned international bodies. She continues her human rights work through various working groups, UN commissions and nonprofits, as adviser and consultant.
