Board of Directors, Mona Foundation, Canada
John has had a diverse and varied career in medicine. This has included full service family practice in rural and remote areas as well as administration and public health appointments in both Canada and the Caribbean. He has also been active in the training and mentoring of physicians while serving as director of the residency program in family medicine at the University of Manitoba. For the past fifteen years his practice has primarily been with northern communities. He has a keen interest in aboriginal health and the provision of services in remote areas. He has learned that the education of women and their complementary role in creating balanced development is essential to the health and wellbeing of the individual, the family, the community and the world.
I support Mona Foundation because of its focus on universal education and gender parity.
