Jalal is an operations executive with 20 years of leadership experience in the United States and abroad. He began his career with General Electric Capital where he held positions of increasing responsibility where he developed and led global programs and cross-functional teams focused on business strategy, M&A integrations, operations re engineering, lean deployments, and new product introduction.
In 2005 he moved with his family to Haifa, Israel to serve as the Director of the Office of Social Economic Development at the Baha’i World Center where he accompanied and guided the capacity development of 50 organizations focused on education, community banking, and health and youth empowerment. For the past seven years he held the post of Deputy-Secretary General of the Baha’i International Community, an international non-governmental organization. In this this capacity he fostered and maintained relations with the governmental, academic, religious, and civil society sectors within the State of Israel. In his own words: “Social and Economic Development is about capacity building. As human beings we not only have the responsibility to give to those in need but how we give is no less important.”
