I’M MOVING 4 MONA AND HOPE YOU’LL BE MOVED TO HELP.
Every step we take moves Mona Foundation closer to its goal of gender equality and education for all. That’s why I’m choosing to take over 5,000 in my 5K walk/run challenge. And why I’m inviting you to help!
Participating is good for the heart, whether you’re physically doing the steps, or supporting them with a donation. You can Move4Mona in one of three ways:
During the pandemic, the challenges have been particularly difficult. Yet Mona Foundation remains committed to supporting its 19 partners in 12 countries to fight COVID-19, provide essential supplies, and further education by whatever means available – including cell phones, WhatsApp, and online instruction.
My challenge will start today so please join me and make your Move4Mona today.
WHAT YOUR FUNDS CAN SUPPORT? (Remember that 100% of every dollar donated helps to transform lives and communities)
Mona supports 63 one-room schools educating 2,089 students in urban slums and remote villages around Lucknow, India that have no running water or sanitation and where a family of 8-10 members often live in a make-shift hut with their animals. It costs $7/month/child in one of these schools. Click on the VIDEO to see the faces of all the students attending these 63 on-room schools.
Mona also supports the Barli Institute, Indore, India which offers a six-month residential training program for rural and tribal young women to educate and empower them to become leaders and agents of social change in their communities. In just six months, Barli students learn to read and write, are trained to generate their own income as tailors, and learn about organic farming, solar cooking, health and hygiene, as well as women’s rights, conflict resolution, and community service. It costs $350 to educate one girl at Barli. Click on this VIDEO to see the faces of students and the impact they are making.
Every dollar you will raise through your Move4Mona will be designated to educate these students.
On average $50 keeps a student in school for one month
