Join bwè kafe, Hoboken, 1002 Washington Street, Hoboken, NJ, on May 27th, at 7 p.m. for a very special event with Mahnaz Javid, founding member of Mona Foundation a global organization dedicated to building a better world for our children through education. The event will deepen our knowledge and understanding of Mona Foundation's role and impact in our world today!
After the earthquake hit Haiti in 2010, Hoboken resident Maryanne Fike, along with her family and friends knew that they had to take action. Using their social media networks they were able to gather a team of doctors and like-minded individuals who also saw the value in aiding in the aftermath of this tragic natural disaster. The fact that no civilian planes were allowed in the country didn’t hold them back. Instead, they flew to the Dominican Republic and rented a bus to take them over the border, and in less than 10 days after the earthquake, they were in Port au Prince, providing emergency medical care, and temporary housing to anyone they could.
To sustain these efforts, Maryanne decided to open a cafe offering Haitian coffee with a portion of proceeds from each cup sold going to help the youth in Haiti get the education they deserve.
Please join us for this wonderful evening and learn more about how bwè kafe is dedicated to building a better world for our children through education and deepen your knowledge and understanding of Mona Foundation's role and impact in our world today!
