Phoenix Celebrates Mona!
The Mona Foundation Phoenix Regional Office launched its grand opening with a “First Annual Luncheon and Fashion Show” fundraiser, organized by Regional Director, Pune Ghebleh, assisted by many supporters. Every detail of the event was lovingly arranged, from the beautiful lakeside country club setting to the exquisite lunch and dessert, the fragrant fresh flower arrangements at each table, and the continual tea and coffee service at an outside buffet next to the lake.
Tickets were sold in advance for $75 each and the demand surpassed the attendance goal of 150 people. Local merchants, contacted to donate gifts or services, responded with gift certificates for dinners-for-two at renowned area restaurants, “Culture Packages,” or sports event tickets that were raffled off for $25 apiece. Over $3,000 was raised from the sale of these tickets. Additionally many other items were donated for a silent auction.
The centerpiece of the event was a spring fashion show. Pune coordinated with an exclusive boutique that agreed to feature its clothing line and ten of Pune's daughter's friends were asked to model. The event room was set up with 17 decorated tables arranged around the runway. Before the lunch and fashion show, Mona Foundation and its goals were presented in an introduction to the assembled guests.
The thought and love that went into planning the event resulted in a
very successful fundraiser. But even more, it was a beautiful, dignified and prestigious launch of the newly formed
Phoenix Regional Office.
