Jonquil, Inc.

Jonquil, Inc.

www.jonquilinc.com
Jonquil is a California-based company which has been owned and operated by designer Diane Samandi for the last thirty years. Inspired by her silent movie actress great aunt and her fashion illustrator grandmother, Diane has made her career out of a love and nostalgia for garment designs of the past and the glamour of old Hollywood.

Jonquil is best known for its elegant, romantic and vintage inspired lingerie, sold only at the most elite boutiques and specialty shops world-wide. Due to its exquisite laces and intricate detail, this glamorous line is a favorite with brides. Jonquil can be found at stores such as Neiman Marcus, Saks, Bergdorf Goodman and Nordstrom.

Inspired by Jonquil's romantic style, Diane has also established a ready-to-wear line under the label Diane Samandi (www.DianeSamandi.com). In addition, she has recently launched a new line of playwear, sleep wear and lounge wear called ‘In Bloom’ (www.inbloombyjonquil.com) which will sell at Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom. Despite her busy schedule, Diane is an active member of the Mona Foundation.

Jonquil Seasonal Sample Sale Smashing Success for Mona!

Pictured in the photo is the collection of items being prepared for Jonquil's end of the year sale to benefit Mona. Diane Samandi sponsored her second annual Sample Sale on December 8, 2007, at the head office of Jonquil in Santa Monica. Usually closed to retail sales, the warehouse is opened one day a year to the public and was crowded with excited shoppers seeking bargains on Jonquil's one-of-a-kind luxury lingerie and contemporary ready-to-wear lines. Volunteers and Jonquil employees were on hand to assist in the sale. Many learned of this sale because of their connection to the Mona Foundation, others from local advertising, or from work within the fashion industry but whatever their reason, each left with a wide smile of satisfaction. “The whole event was a win-win one for everyone,” Diane said. “It's very satisfying for me to be able to do something so significant for the foundation. People were able to buy items they really wanted at very reasonable prices, and many learned about the Mona Foundation and its work. It was a great shopping day for attendees and certainly a benefit for everyone involved because they received an excellent value for their purchases.” At the end of the special day, 100% of the almost $9,000 raised was given to the Mona Foundation.

Jonquil has been an avid supporter of Mona Foundation projects and operations since the foundation was started eight years ago.

Baha'i Ringstone

www.BahaiRingstone.com
Koorosh Daneshgar and Oscar Valencia share everything important for professional partners: Both had been fine-jewelry makers since they were apprentices in their mid-teens. Both absolutely insisted that perfection comes first in any jewelry-making enterprise. Both had a passion to create spectacular noble-metals settings for glorious gemstones. Their talents are complementary, too: Koorosh is a master designer; Oscar is a master gemologist/jeweler.

Since 2006, the company has sent monthly scholarships for ten children attending Anis Zunuzi School in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. These children would not be in school without this support. Recently, an arrangement was made to sell some of his exceptional jewelry items on eBay and 100% of all sales from the eBay site will be allocated to Mona projects. 10% of all web sales from the business site will go to the General Fund for Mona Foundation.

Probity Insurance Services

Probity Insurance Services

www.probityins.com
Donna Hosseini, of Probity Insurance services, Inc. donates 10% of proceeds of any insurance transaction that she makes with one of Mona Foundation's supporters.

In addition to contribution through her business, the Hosseini family also contributes in several different ways including direct contributions and involving their children in the acts of giving. For example, their family recently held a party for their daughters, Ariana leaving for college and Charissa turning 16. They asked that no gifts be brought for their party but instead the well wishers could donate to Mona Foundation. A 15 minute video of Mona Foundation was shown. The awareness raised from this event was profound and we firmly believe the circle of friends for Mona Foundation has grown by 180 more people.

It Ain't Nothin' But Taylor Made

It Ain't Nothin' But Taylor Made
Making Clothes that Make a Difference

www.nothinbuttaylormade.com
Designer Marcel Antoinette infuses her children's collection with enduring quality and vibrant creativity. But she always knew that her work should support a greater purpose.

That's why at the end of each year, she gives her remaining inventory to help those in need. For example, she sent over 400 of her creations to victims of Katrina and the earthquake in Haiti. And she further supports various organizations with a percentage of the annual profits of her company.

After years working in the clothing industry as a representative of a couture house and participating in high-end juried shows, Marcel determined to apply her experience to design her own children's line of clothes when her daughter, Taylor, was born.

Her dedication to quality and durability and her eye for unique, colorful fabrics with a sense of fun has won her numerous awards including a letter of recognition from Congress in Washington, DC.

Marcel has chosen to support Mona Foundation with a percentage of her annual profits. You can see her collection at her website. When you purchase any item from her children's collection, you're helping Mona Foundation and Marcel to fulfill the vision of education for all the world's children.
