2005 Rabbani Library Open

The Inauguration of the Badi School Library was a very moving event. There were welcome notes, short speeches, the students were all present, the dedication plaque was unveiled and a tour of the building was taken.

The former 'library' was a small, 10 X 10 room and its contents were in stacked disarray. Each of the attendees to this ceremony was asked to symbolically carry a book from the original library into the new one, and with that the library was officially opened.

The large, new library is a bright and airy structure, well-designed and appointed, with tiles on the floor laid as if they were carpet. The library has an assembly room/gym over it, so as not to waste space. Two new additional classrooms were added on the right side of the building and will be immediately filled by forty newly registered students from the long waiting list.

We are most grateful to be able to ship another 10 newer computers to this school. They will help to make the new computer lab a strong technological center.

2004 Library First Phase

As the first class graduates from the school, the new library will be open and operational. The report from the Badi school is exciting as the stages of work proceed.

The first phase of the library building is now finished. It consisted of the construction of two floors: a basement where the books will be kept and two rooms on the first floor where the students and visitors will read, research and study. The second phase will continue with windows, doors, a ceiling, electricity, floors, stairs and a handrail for the basement, inside painting and electrical details such us lamps, switches and breakers. The third and last phase consists in the installation of a PC database, a PC with Internet, as well as a telephone, furniture and the books.

There is also an urgent need for a classroom to complete the 12th grade as part of the school's growing process. The decision was made to attach it to the library and also project the library's roof. The roof will be able to support the construction of the school's future auditorium.

On May 10th 2004, we started using the newly finished room beside the library as a classroom. We plan to start the second phase of the Library construction in September, and the last phase will be completed in November.

2004 Musical Instruments

Mona Foundation has secured musical instruments, cellos, violas, and a bass, needed by Badi's musical program. The instruments, costing about $2,800, are being shipped from China directly to Badi's musical director, David Torrez.
