Happy Mother's Day! - Celebrating the Power & Compassion of Women

It takes a village to raise each new generation, and women must often – of necessity – take the lead in both nurturing and educating the young.

This Mother's Day we would like to share the inspiring example of Sue Puzo

In 2008 in the Haitian capital of Port-au-Prince, Sue Puzo met two boys living on t[...] KEEP READING

Working together to build a better world!

When you make charitable contributions it is not always clear what the impact really is. But, when you donate to Mona Foundation, your impact on the lives of our partner project participants is truly immeasurable!

30 Years of Providing Education and a Haven to Haiti's children

The Anis Zunuzi Baha’i School was established in 1982 in the outskirts of Port-au-Prince to provide access to education for the poorest of Haiti’s children. It has also become a haven for neighborhood youth who use the soccer and basketball facilities, and for the larger community which uses the school as a gathering place.

For example, immediately after the 2010 earthquake, the Zunuzi school grounds became a “command center” for hundreds of emergency aid workers and volunteers as w[...] KEEP READING

Bringing Education to the Poorest Areas of India

India currently has 24 million rural internet users and the rate of growth for internet access is far higher in rural areas as compared to urban India. This trend has significant impact for the way our partner project, Digital Study Hall, hopes to begin implementing their programs in the near future which will dramatically increase their reach.

Digital Study Hall (DSH) has been working in India since 2005 to improve education for disadvantaged children and women in rural and slum schools in India. They currentl[...] KEEP READING

Building a Strong Foundation for Awareness of Universal Education

Thank you Banyan Branch for a great year!

It was just over a year ago that Banyan Branch, a leading agency for social media strategy and engagement, officially announced that Mona Foundation was the firm’s pro-bono client for 2011-2012. We cannot thank them enough for this opportunity and for the tremendous talent and energy they put into helping us build our social media presence over the past year.

We not only built a lasting foundation for increasing awareness of the schools we support around the world online, we also buil[...] KEEP READING
